Trust the Process Series - Week 1 - Get Comfortable Being Uncomfortable

“Move out of your comfort zone. You can only grow if you are willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable when you try something new”
- Brian Tracey
Welcome everyone to the June edition of the Straight Up Mindset Blog. This month’s theme is going to be the Trust The Process Series. This week we are going to discuss  "Get Comfortable Being Uncomfortable"
During our journey of growth we all come to a moment of where we start to hesitate and wonder is it all worth it. We get scared, we doubt the process and we allow the weight of expectations to shadow our will to succeed. You start to feel uncomfortable cause you are in uncharted territory. I want you to understand that this is normal, you are at a new level now that requires you to dig a little deeper and push a little harder. Its all apart of the process when you are striving for greatness. Too many times I have seen people give up when they are soo close because they did not like the feeling of unfamiliarity. They didn't know what to do or where to go so they did what was easiest and that was to just stop. In moments like that you have to Trust The Process

Do not give into the urge of stopping when things get hectic and you don't have a grasp on the situation yet. When I was younger I use to avoid anything and everything that would be considered difficult. It kept me from achieving a lot of things and one day my Dad caught on to it and he eventually sat down with me and told me "Son, you better get comfortable being uncomfortable".  I really didn't understand it at first but as I got older and my goals got a little more ambitious I slowly started to comprehend what he was saying. The farther along you go in life and the more you start to achieve you will run into areas you are not familiar with. You will always be uncomfortable and the moment you realize this and get to the point of where you're comfortable being uncomfortable that is when you will start to make moves and see things start to happen for you. Think about it, when you first started driving, played a sport, went to school(High School or College..etc). Those were all moments that you were nervous, scared and didn't know what to do. Look at what eventually happened, you figured it out and mastered what was in front of you

So accept the challenge and plow through it cause you will get past this. Like the old saying goes "This Too Shall Pass". Try to look at every new and uncomfortable moment as a time to learn and grow. Understand its a moment in your life that you will eventually get over and Trust The Process, that feeling will subside.
