FOCUS ON BEING PRODUCTIVE INSTEAD OF BUSY

Welcome to the Straight Up Mindset Blog!!
What's up Straight Up Nation! Thank you for returning to the blog. Remember this month’s theme is the Routine Series. The first weeks blog was Morning Ritual, Having a morning ritual is essential to getting your mind and body prepped for the daily grind. Week 2 was about Daily Goals, Its great to have Big long term goals but you also need goals for the day to day.

This weeks title is Prioritize. This is one of the key components to productivity and accomplishing goals. There will be many times when your plate is overly stacked with things that need to get done. This can bring an overwhelming feeling and what most people tend to do, including myself, is we just start attacking everything at once. That approach, although initially seems like a good idea ends up just being a disaster. A better and more efficient approach is to look at what needs to get done and prioritize from most important to least important. Example: If one item has a deadline of today, well that would shoot up towards the top of your list.

Doing this will help put things in order for you and give you a path to follow. It allows you to take back control of your day and not put your brain into overload. Another method if possible is to delegate some items to another person who has the availability and capability to complete the task. Now obviously this is not an option for all people but if it is, utilize this to allow you to knock out other task that are higher on your priority list. Now DO NOT mistake delegating duties for handing off work cause you don't feel like doing it. That's a totally different thing and that is not what we are trying to convey here. Huge difference between very busy and lazy but that is a topic for another time. So when you feel like you have too much going on and cant get anything done, try to put all of your items in order of importance and start grinding away towards the finish line!
