Iron Sharpens Iron
“Accountability is the
glue that ties commitment to the result.”— Bob Proctor
Recaps from weeks one and two. Week one was Taking Action,
write it down and get to work. Week two
was about Consistency, building good habits, and holding yourself
Accountable. This week is about having
someone you trust to hold you Accountable and to make sure you uphold your
word. Here are a few traits that you
should look for in an Accountability partner.
So a good example of someone who can help you maintain a
high level of consistency or to help raise the bar is KEY. For instance, Lebron James and Kyrie Irving
of the Cleveland Cavilers. One could not have won a championship in Cleveland
without the other. Lebron is the greatest player in the world right now but
Lebron needed Kyrie to help take some of the load off of him and to help get
the offense going in order to overcome the Juggernaut team Golden State
Warriors. Kyrie needed Lebron to help him become the player he is and a force
to be wreckin with today. Both of their games have grown because of one another
and that relationship is helping them be a possible repeat World NBA Champion.
The reason for having an accountability partner is because
you can’t do everything by yourself. You
must have someone else to help take off some of the load. The negative for continuing to do things on
your own, is it will never get done. “No
man is an Island,” you are not by yourself.
Just like Rome wasn’t built in a day or the Egyptian Pyramids weren’t
built by one man. I know you don’t like
to be vulnerable, but you cannot be afraid for them to see your weaknesses. You have to be open, honest, and willing to
be held accountable.
It is very important to have a solid foundation of people
around you, that stretches you, that challenges you, and gets you out of your
comfort zone. Also, making sure that your
Accountability partner or your inner circle are all on the same page. We need you to make a commitment to yourself,
that you will make no excuses and you will do what you say you’re going to do. So write it down, get to work, stay
consistent, and find you a partner you trust to hold you accountable, if you do
these things, you will make your goals a reality.
